Why Evel Dick Left the House

Here is his video statement from his website~ It took him almost 5 mins to actually get to the point, but he left because of some bad news about a person who is very close to him, and has always been there for him. He said he won't violate the privacy of his friend no matter how much he's asked about the details.

He's very disappointed about leaving the show, and apologized to CBS and his fans. He will be back on his online show recapping this season~ I personally don't think that would preclude him from being there for his friend, although I'm sure the speculation will continue...

Thanks Mij: Yes I find that a little hard to swallow. What ever it was, CBS and Dick are keeping it under wraps. I heard one of the HG say Dick was evicted by BB. Why would they say that? We may never know the truth. Thanks for the update!!

Yeah, as much I like him as a player, that seems like a pretty vague, cover-yer-ass story, lol.... I'm not saying I completely disbelieve it, though. But if anything different really happened, I'm sure CBS would cover for him because he's such a big draw for the show...

I was paying attention to Dick last night on BB. I thought he looked really stressed, and not happy to be playing the game. He was giving it his best shot, but I felt like his heart wasn't really in the game. Did anyone else feel that?

I doubt seriously if we ever hear the real reason he left. CBS is going to cover their butts & I am sure they have warned ED not to say the real reason or risk losing any monies he may have made even during his short stint. The power of money seems to fuel ED.

Thanks for posting this. I'm so disappointed he had to leave, not with ED though, but with the whole situation. I'm sure he had a really good reason to exit the house early. When I first saw him on the show, I thought he didn't look very well, and I kept wondering if it was because he may have not had enough time to prepare (mentally/physically) before entering the house. I believe he was only given a day or two notice. Correct me if I'm wrong.....but he did appear to be exhausted. Anyway, I hope things work out for him, whatever the reasons were.

I thought at first he looked haggared when he first came into the house, then thought na...he's just older. I think his reason for leaving seemed legit, and if true then I guess means that Dick is a good friend to have. If the reason given was not true than what a disappointment that the fans of the show are lied to.

I was looking forward to him getting in the faces of some HG's this season, and seeing if his tactics would work on this bunch, but I have a feeling they wouldn't have. He seemed pretty confident that he was going to rule the house again, but to me he'd forgotten one main reason he won his season and that was Eric. Coupled with the fact that most players from BB8 were intimmidated by him, and let him have run of the house. I didn't see that happening this season.

Whatever the reason he left, what a let down.

I dont think Dick left the show because he couldnt hack it...Dick lives and breathes Big Brother. We all know what a big ego he has, I know he wanted to be the first 2 time winner, that would put him above Will and Boogie status. So there is no way Dick just quit....he said himself he was very happy with his standing in the house and happy with his alliance....he said he felt he got a better start on this season than on Season 8...so I honestly think there was a real emergency that caused him to leave. Also, I do remember one of the guys saying that Dick was laying down when the DR called him in and that was the last they saw of him...so Dick didnt go to them, they definitely called him in...which would support his explanation....Dick is also not a blatant rule breaker, he has too much respect for the show, so I highly doubt he was ejected for a violation. The violation would have had to be pretty darned serious in order for the producers to send out one of their biggest ratings draw of the season (if not the biggest)....I believe him...I think he did what he had to do.

I tend to agree with you punkn, on every point you made. Just don't see Dick as a quitter and if the show did give him the boot, why would they hide that fact. At first I thought maybe he left to further Dani in the game, but then thought how would he know that she would get a golden key.

I considered that fact as well, and I think Dick would absolutely have made sure Dani would get that golden key...but I also dont think Dick would have sacrificed his shot at 2 time winner to further Dani in the game unless he was pretty darned sure his chances were slim to none....and I dont think he was there long enough to come to that conclusion...his ego would never let him bow out gracefully lol
