Allison Grodner reveals season secrets to WLBB

Allison Grodner reveals season secrets to WLBB

WeLoveBigBrother.com spoke exclusively to BB’s Executive Producer Allison Grodner Tuesday about the brand new season.

While the houseguests may not be in the house yet, Grodner said the work is well underway.

“Were getting closer and closer to the big move in day,” she said. “Weve got the house still getting fixed. Im watching it right now as weve got a cleaning crew in there right now and were making it all nice and pretty for the group.”

Grodner revealed when this group of 13 moves in, they will be complete strangers.

“As far as the cast is concerned,” she said, “rest assured they are all strangers.”

They also will be diverse in their backgrounds, points of view and ages.

“We have a wide range of ages this year,” she said. “Theres young, theres old, theres in between, theres parents, theres students, theres people with white collar jobs, blue collar jobs. Its all very different. Weve got a lot of very specific types of people in this house, and people who have very extreme points of view than maybe weve had in the past.”

She said the house will also reflect this diversity.

“This year [the house] reflects the cast in all the different places and eras they come from,” she said. “Its a very different house, its not our winter house. This is a very different thing and it goes with the cast.”

Grodner also confirmed live audiences will return to the show in a different way, as producers wanted to carefully include some successful elements from the show’s past.

“[We wanted to take] the original concept of the show of strangers moving into a house — with diverse points of view, coming from all places, all different ages, all different walks of life — and try to put that back into play for this special Big Brother 10 season,” she said.

Don’t forget about the twist! Grodner explained it will play out from day one.

“The game starts before these people even enter the house,” she hinted. “Expect the unexpected. Expect a completely different Big Brother from what youve seen this past year.”

Grodner has been a part of Big Brother since Season 2.

I am hoping that big brother returns to being the real reality show it used to be. I couldnt even watch the last big brother I was so disgusted with the show. BRING THE REAL BIG BROTHER SHOW BACK…PLEASE!!!!

I’ve always loved watching Big Brother. Except for the last one. I don’t now if it was put together too quickley or what, but I didn’t care for that group of people. Did you see them on You Tube ? I’m looking foward to getting back to the basics. When they had all ages. Not just the young and pretty.

If it begins bfore it starts does that mean a snap evictions. Someone could leave the house b4 they unpack there bags?

Great interview! I cannot wait to see what they come up with, FINALLY a season that is pre-cast twists. Hopefully

I agree with Carmen, I stopped watching last season about 1/2 way through. It was horrible. I’m really looking forward to the “back to roots” with twists and the total strangers again! Lets hope the formula works like we want it to! :-) Bring on BB10!

I to was completetly dissappointed in the last BB. I prefer to see it play itself out with total strangers from all walks of life in the house trying to survive each week, I hope it goes back to being that show that you can’t wait to see and then spend all day at work talking about the next day. back like it used tobe bfore there were couples and parents and such…just good ole fashioned every one for him or herself.

i sometimes can’t believe alison in these interviews

I am glad BB is going back to its roots with a diverse group of 13 complete strangers. If BB didn’t make these changes they were probably close to losing all of its fans and being canceled.

I wish they would run the US Big Bro like the Australia Big Bro. i have watched it this season and it puts all US Big Bro’s to shame. I love the use of the hand granades. and the housemates talk to Big Bro like he is a real person and he does the same to the housemates.

It sounds like Grodner has listened to what people have been saying. I’ve read a lot of comments all wanting to get back to a “reality” show and having fun with it again. Unfortunately, I agree with the comment that Allison is just hard to believe. We’ve kinda heard it before. I’ll keep my fingers crossed but I won’t hold my breath.

Big Brother is a great show because it’s so simple.

Just cast better, more diversity in race and age.

Stop using the diary room to influence players.

Stop making silly twists that only effect a half of the players.

I love watching BB and I want it to do well but I hope Allison Grodner gets fired. BB needs new blood, new ideas.

I agree with KB I wish the US Big Brother followed the format and rules of UK and Aus. I love the way the interact with Big Brother and can you imagine the housemates all getting there on the first day with the game plans of alliances, and getting people on their “team” only to find out they cannot discuss nominations!! And have to win their food $$ as a house??? It would be hysterical watching them all try to follow those rules! Plus I live Friday Night Live!!

  • KG said:

I think the week long reward tasks are great too. Everyone sleeping in the same bed. the housemate being seperated and required to sleep in the VW wagon in the back yard. He also was not allowed to come in the house unless BB said he could (20 mins a day to shower). He even had to eat outside.

BB 10 was a disater, the cuple thing didn’t work, my husband who loved BB and got me hooked. but no as bad as he was, he pasted away in dec of 05, and the following BB, i signed up for the feeds, love the feeds, but his past BB was the worst of all the BB’s that i have seen, too much nudity, the orgy nite was discusting, i glad it did make it on tv. please no more of this orgy things, and bible thumbing people with the good an evil thing in the game. i am already signed up for july 13th, looking for a much better show. thanks for giveing me something to hold on to that gave my husband so much joy, till he past

  • granma said:

Liked most of the BB seasons except BB9. Did you throw that one together in a rush because of the “strike”? Please no more like that! People were boring. Only thing I liked better on 9 than 8 was less drinking. Too many nights spent drinking on 8. Loved Evil Dick.

  • Barbi said:

I’m in the early 60′s and was a total hippie in my youth, cussed with the best of em and did it all….BUT, BB9 was totally disgusting! I sure hope theres some Game and a touch of Class in BB10. I cancelled my feeds 4 weeks prior to the end of BB9 and still havent resigned up. Hopefully it’ll be a mixture of strangers, LOTS of games, work for their food & tons of challenges?? FIRE ALLISON n’ HIRE Dr Will & Boogie to produce the show!!

I think it it so funny that while all the house guests were in the house they were so sure they were the best season and everybody loved them, but in really most people myself included hated the season. The only one I really liked was Nat and I was so upset when the guys back stabbed her after all she did for them. I am sorry but baller did not deserve that money, just my opinion.

This will a sexless season. Boring. Who wants to see a 75 year old man. Come on. Last Season was great with Chelsia & Natalie getting intimate. Are people turning gay, what’s the world turning to. Nobody wants young good looking cast. Hard to Believe… Awful looking cast. Bring back the young like 18 – 25, so we can see more naked chicks. Thanks!

  • Debbie said:

Last year wasn’t one of the best and the diary room definially needs to stay out of any players decision making. If there not harming a player they need to keep their mouths shut. I will stop watching if they’re going to be an extra player. I’ve watched the show since season 1 and look forward to each new season. My family thinks I’m crazy because I have the live feed but I can cancel it, faster than it took me to get it, if the diary room decides to play again this season.

Who on earth is doing the engineering on this weeks show night of aprils eviction.. they kept the blasted jingle audio playing on 2 channels on top of motioin.. a Rookie intern from a radio station could do better its better to hear than see but its best when both ar there at the same time. all the dead air and a 40 min loop of the same trivia quesitons some out of sync… this is the Last year i will pay a penny to see the online the advertised 24 7 is a pure lie. the show would of been good if not for the lack of music and rights to listen to what is paid for. 41 dollars times half a million you cleared enough to pay the 10 grand a song ascap bmi sesac monies.
